CANCELLED: Forbidden City, USA: Chinatown Nightclubs 1936-1970

The Japanese American National Museum has commissioned filmmaker/writer Arthur Dong to curate an exhibit featuring his treasure trove of memorabilia chronicling the magic and glamour of San Francisco’s Chinatown nightclub era. The show will be an expanded version of his popular exhibition that originally premiered at the San Francisco Public Library in 2014.

Hawaii International Film Festival

PrintThe 2016 Hawaii International Film Festival has invited filmmaker Arthur Dong to serve as a juror for their feature documentaries competition. He’ll also present a special Forbidden City, USA program, including a screening of his re-mastered film, book talk, and live performance by the Grant Avenue Follies. A book signing follows.

The Killing Fields of Dr. Haing S. Ngor Bilingual DVD and VOD Release

From October 2021 through March 2022, the Criterion Channel presented “Stories of Resistance: Documentaries by Arthur Dong.” The collection highlighted Arthur Dong’s films streamed together in a complete retrospective for the first time. Academy Welcomes New Asian Members
